All the Important Things are Green

Day after day, week after week, and now month after month. Everything I consider home is carried on my back. Nothing within Big Green is carried for luxury. All my items are needed for survival.

So many shake downs later and I finally have a pack weight down to 30lbs or so (lighter/heavier depending on the amount of food and water). All the bits and pieces of my life is now stated below. Please keep in mind, although I am a gear lover, when it comes to specs and detailed info I am not the person to ask. If all my wonderful friends out there would like to know more, I hear Google is a great resource for things like that 🙂

Thermarest Slackhammock – my favorite item…my home. This hammock is not designed for ultralight backpacking, but it sure does work beautifully! Like with all hammocks, it all depends on how you set it up (making sure the angles on the straps are correct).

Thermarest Bugnet – A netting that cacooning the hammock. AMAZING for spring/summer when the bugs are out, yet still offers cool breeze to come through!

Eno Underquilt – This purchase happens while on trail, but it necessary for the cooler months. This is a sleeping bag type material hat goes underneath the hammock. The underquilt provides insulation, since the sleeping back compresses too much while in the hammock.  EMS 20 degree down WNS Sleepinbag – I’ve had this beauty for years now and still in love with it. I would highly recommend an EMS sleeping bag to anyone in the market.

Osprey Atoms 50ltr – This wonderful pack is also on my list of favorite items. The base weight if fairly light and the pack itself has fit everything beautifully.

Footwear: Vasque Boot

Water Treatement: Sawyer Water Filtration…HIGHLY Recommended

Rain Gear: Frogg Toggs…I got the rain top from a hiker box and absolutely love the lightweight and breathable material

Bear Bag: Sea to Summit waterproof bags

Pack Cover: Sea to Summit 50 ltr

Minus a couple items this has wrapped up my home for the past couple months.

Have a beautiful week all!
