The past week has been filled with SO much love, support, and excitement. I was that lucky person who had 7 days within one week where love and kindness was wrapped around me. A HUGE shoutout to everyone who made the time to see me personally or reach out to me in one way or another. This simple act of human interaction has calmed my nerves and brought to my awareness the amount of love and safety coming my way. Thank you everyone!!!
The last day before my flight, which happens to be my favorite day of the week…Wednesday aka Hump Day… was such a beautiful day. I was an emotional mess and not really sure where I was or what I was doing and yet filled with a full heart of happiness. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to spend this last day with my MetroRock family, a group of people I have grown to appreciate, respect, and love…so to this fine looking group of humans, thanks for the patience and dealing with my strange behavior! With all this positive and comforting support from family and friends I was able to fall asleep Wednesday night and pass right out (so thank you to all my people) !!
Overall, I like to think that I have my shi*t together…minus the whole leaving my hiking clothes (the only TWO outfits I have for this trip) in the trunk of my car…locked…parked…with the only key already in an after hour slot…ya, that happened.
This totally threw my together and grounded feelings out the window. I then came to the realization and understanding that this minor roadblock was nothing but a little test of my skills. So here I am, in Atlanta Georgia, waiting for my bus to Chattanooga, TN to see some beautiful friends of mine. The plan is to grab some clothes/necessary gear within the next couple days…then off to the trail. Thanks for the test universe, it keeps me on my toes 😉
Waking up this morning with a feeling of sleepiness and nervousness, quickly turned into smiles, positivity, and overall full body excitement! I am finally taking charge, following through with this dream of mine, and completely immersing myself in the environment where I feel the most complete, whole, and at home…b-e-a-utiful mother nature.
The idea started yesterday and has been growing in my mind ever since. The thought of traveling through 14 states, eight of which I have never traveled through or explored, by foot. Eyes, heart, and mind open to the unknown.
Sitting at TGIFridays with the lovely people surrounding me, I am now enjoying my scrumptious burger and a tasty beer….
Oh beer, how you have always been there to greet and congratulate me at the end of each and every hike. Well this hike will be a little different. A tall cold glass of flavor won’t be waiting for me at the base of each peak, but maybe while waiting for long, yet amazing days to pass, this small yet important treat might be more important than it has ever been. Who knows, maybe this will be replaced with something as simple as a coffee…
Enough babbling and daydreaming about the unknown. Now time to relish in this life I am creating and one that has been kindly and generously supported by so many.
To all my people, you know who you are, and to all those questioning if you are one of these people (most likely you are!) thank you. Thank you for the love. Thank you for the encouragement. Thank you for the ridiculous, yet empowering words of strength.
Here we go. The next time I connect my feet will be walking along a trail that so many have started. Time will tell…where will I end up?
Bye friends, see you when I see you xo
